Distinguished Speakers at the International Congress “Življenje rekam”

From 19 to 21 May 2026, the international congress “Življenje rekam” will take place in Ljubljana, bringing together experts, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders involved in water management, river restoration, and nature conservation. The congress is dedicated to exploring solutions for the protection and restoration of river ecosystems in the face of climate, societal, and environmental challenges.

Particular attention will be given to contemporary river restoration approaches, nature-based solutions (NbS), and strengthening the connection between science, professional practice, and policymaking. Participants can look forward to a diverse programme of presentations, panel discussions, and workshops.

The congress will be officially opened with welcome addresses from the following distinguished speakers:
